Lok Sabha member H.Vasantha Kumar passed away today in Chennai. He was 70. He was representing the Kanyakumari constituency where he won on the Congress ticket in the last General Election. Vasanthakumar was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on the 10th of this month after he tested positive for Covid-19. He was in the ICU and has been on ventilator support. He succumbed to the disease this evening without responding to the treatment. Late Vasantha Kumar has been a prominent entrepreneur running a chain of retail outlets of consumer durables. Previously he has been a Congress legislator in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. The late legislator is also the paternal uncle of Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan.
