Arabinda Muduli was an Indian Odia musician, singer and lyricist. Muduli was born in Khanati, Khordha District, Odisha, India. He was a disciple of Bhikari Bal. He was a devotee of lord Jagannath. He sang just bhajans and turned down offers to sing commercial movie songs. Arabinda Muduli was an Odia Bhajan Maestro, who was a musician, lyricist and singer famous in Odia language. He was born in a village of Khanati, Odisha and was trained by Bhikari Bal. So far he has only sung bhajans, since he was a devotee of Lord Jagannath. As a result of which, he has turned down all the commercial singing opportunities. He suffered from chest pain around 2am today morning and was taken to the hospital. However, he has passed away before admitting in the hospital. He was also a great devotee of Lord Jagannath and was inclined towards singing bhajans from his childhood. He was trained by Bhikari Bal and used to sing bhajans, which made him popular Bhajan Maestro of Odia. He has also turned down many big commercial singing opportunities, since he was much interested only in holy bhajans. He has sung over 3000 bhajans in his lifetime including most popular bhajans namely ‘Kala Saante Acha Kemante, Jaga Pain Niti Mali Phula, etc’. He was also awarded for his performances. These awards include ‘Swar Srikshetra’ at lion gate of Jagannath temple and Certification of appreciation award.
