Bijay Mohanty was an Indian film actor of Odia Cinema. He was honored a National Film Award. Legendary Filim Actor Bijay. Mohanty is no more: Odisha Filim industry particularly and Odisha as a whole suffered a great loss due to sad demise of versatile , veteran actor Bijay Mohanty. He was 70 He is an unique talent because he had performed both hero and vilian role adroitly. Had he stayed in outside Odisha, he would have become a national star. But he preferred to stay in Odisha and contribute to Odisha filim industry. I pay my homage to his departed soul and express deep condolence to his bereaved family. In 1977, Mohanty started upon his career in the Oriya film industry with the film Chilika Tire which won the National Award for that year. ... He joined the Drama department of the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in 1977 and retired as a professor from the institute in recent years.
