M. K. Prasad (1932 – 17 January 2022) was an Indian environmentalist known for his grassroots level activism to protect tropical rainforests in the Indian state of Kerala. In the late 1970s, as a member of Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad, he led the Save Silent Valley movement, to prevent development of a hydroelectric project in the Silent Valley National Park, a project that would have flooded the rainforest. Prasad was born in an Ezhava family in Cherai on the island of Vypin in the coastal district of Ernakulam in present day Indian state of Kerala. He studied in the Rama Varuna Union High School, a school that was established by local Hindu and Christian community leaders. The headmaster of the school and Prasad's early mentor, K. C. Abraham, would later go on to serve as the governor of Gujarat. While his family was expecting him to follow in his uncle's footsteps to become an Ayurveda physician, he joined Maharaja's College in Kochi. He received an undergraduate degree in botany before going to Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani to graduate with a masters degree in botany. Prasad was married to Sherly Prasad, who retired as a professor from Maharaja's College, Ernakulam. The couple had two children, a son and a daughter. He was a native of Kochi. Prasad died at a private hospital in Kochi on 17 January 2022, while being treated for complications of COVID-19.

Pandit Sukh Ram (born Sukhram Sharma; 27 July 1927 – 11 May 2022) was an Indian politician who served as the Minister of Communications and Information Technology from 1993 to 1996. He was a member of Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh. He won the Vidhan Sabha elections five times and the Lok Sabha elections three times. He is the father of politician Anil Sharma and grandfather of actor Aayush Sharma. In 2011 he was sentenced to 5 years in jail for corruption when he was Communications Minister in 1996. Sukhram Sharma was born on 27 July 1927 in a poor family of 10 children in Kotli, Himachal Pradesh. He attended the Delhi Law School and practised as a lawyer at the Mandi District law courts in 1953. In 1962, he became a Member of the Territorial Council in Himachal Pradesh. Ram represented the Mandi Assembly seat from 1963 to 1984. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1984 and served as a junior minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government. He served as minister of state for defence production and supplies, planning and food and civil supplies. Sukh Ram was the Union minister of state (independent charge) holding the communications portfolio from 1993 to 1996. Pandit Sukh Ram, passed away at the age of 94.

Satinder Kumar Lambah (16 July 1941 – 30 June 2022), also known as Sati Lambah, was an Indian civil servant of 1964 batch of Indian Foreign Service cadre who served as the Prime Minister of India's Special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan between 2005 and 2014. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1964. He spent more than four decades in a diplomatic career, working in several Indian missions worldwide. He has served as the Ambassador of India to Hungary from 1986 to 1989, He died on 30 June 2022 at the age of 80 in New Delhi.

Iqbal Singh Kingra (1 May 1926 – 29 January 2022) was an Indian socio-spiritual leader of the Sikh community. He was the Founder President of The Kalgidhar Trust, The Kalgidhar Society and Baru Sahib. He was considered to be one of the most influential Sikhs in the world. Singh was born to Sanwal Singh and wife Gulab Kaur in Bharyal Lehri, Gurdaspur district of Punjab. Singh completed a Bachelor of Science Agriculture in 1949 from Lyallpur, Pakistan. In Pakistan he met Teja Singh Ji and Attar Singh and was influenced by their teachings. He later became disciple of Teja Singh Ji. Singh was highly impressed by their lives and teachings. He remained in constant touch with Teja Singh while pursuing his master's degree in Agriculture science. Iqbal Singh later worked for the Himachal government. He revealed the hitherto known Tapo Bhoomi at Baru Sahib, which was established in 1956. Later in 1982, Iqbal Singh founded and registered The Kalgidhar Trust and later The Kalgidhar Society. Singh died in Baru Sahib on 29 January 2022, at the age of 95.

Avdhash Kaushal (1934/1935 – 12 July 2022) was an Indian academic, environmentalist and activist. He was awarded a Padma Shri in 1986. Avdhash Kaushal was an Associate professor for seven years in Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie. He headed an NGO Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra (RLEK) which works, among others, to promote the cause of the Van Gujjars: an indigenous forest-dwelling nomadic tribe of the northern Himalayas. Campaigns include literacy, elementary health and veterinary care, and community forest management. He died in Dehradun on 12 July 2022 at the age of 87.

Musafir Paswan (1954/1955 – 24 November 2021) was an Indian politician from Bihar and a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Paswan won the Bochahan Assembly constituency on the Vikassheel Insaan Party ticket in the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. He previously contested the 1995 Bihar Legislative Assembly election on a Samata Party ticket, 2000 Bihar Legislative Assembly election on a Janata Dal (United) ticket, 2010 Bihar Legislative Assembly election on a Rashtriya Janata Dal ticket, and the 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election on a Samajwadi Party ticket from the Bochahan (Vidhan Sabha constituency).Musafir Paswan died on 24 November 2021 at the age of 66 in Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

He recorded songs in several languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, Assamese and Gujarati. KK began his career by singing advertisement jingles, and made his film debut in 1996 with an A.R. Rahman soundtrack. In 1999, he launched his debut album titled Pal. The songs "Pal" and "Yaaron" from the album Pal became very popular and are commonly used in school farewells. Born in Delhi on 23 August 1968 to Malayali parents, Krishnakumar Kunnath grew up in New Delhi. He sang 3,500 jingles before breaking into Bollywood. KK married Jyothy in 1991. His son Nakul Krishna Kunnath sang the song "Masti" from his album Humsafar with him. KK also had a daughter. After graduating in commerce from Kirori Mal College, KK did a six-month stint as a marketing executive before pursuing his passion for music. He struggled to establish himself in the competitive recording industry at first, resorting to singing at hotels to make ends meet. After a few years, he moved to Mumbai in 1994. He was 53 years old at the time of his death.
