RIP Shri V.Ramakrishna Vissamraju Ramakrishna was born to Vissamraju Rangasai and Ratnam on August 20, 1947. His mother's sister is P. Susheela (Aunt). He did his B.Sc., in his young age. Impressed by Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao he took up to singing as profession. He used to sing light music for All India Radio. His debut movie song is Vayase Oka Poolathota in Vichitra Bandham (1972). The Great singer, has a great credit to his name with thousands of beautiful songs and devotional songs sung by him. He has sung over 5000 songs so far, both in movies as well as in Devotional Albums. He also has a credit of many great music directors during the 1970s and 1980s. And these times, any song that was sung by him was a huge hit. Most of the Top actors in the Telugu film industry preferred him to lend his voice to their movies, amongst them were, NTR, ANR, Sobhan Babu, Krishnam Raju and to name a few. He recently has also taken up acting for the past 5-6 years has been shooting for serials and characters in films as well. He also is still continuing to sing for many concerts across Andhra Pradesh. Every song, he has sung over the past is an evergreen song. The depth in his voice and the soothing effect that his songs gives to the audience is a very unforgettable experience, it unfolds the character in a movie and brings in a lot of life to any song he sings. He was married during 1977 to Jyothi Khanna who then was a very famous singer in Doordarshan and live concerts across Andhra pradesh. He is blessed with two beautiful children, Sai Kiran who has debuted and established himself as an actor through the Block buster "Nuvve Kaavali" in 2001. Not to forget his very pretty daughter Lekha, who has graduated from college. Noted historian Babasaheb Purandare passes away... Noted historian, prominent author Balwant Moreshwar alias Babasaheb Purandare (99) died at a city-based hospital on Monday early morning after a brief illness. Known for his scholarly works on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, he was undergoing treatment at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. He was being treated for pneumonia. His condition got critical on Sunday evening and was kept on life support. Hospital administration announced through a statement that he breathed his last at 5.06 am on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his message said, "I am pained beyond words. The demise of Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare leaves a major void in the world of history and culture. It is thanks to him that the coming generations will get further connected to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His other works will also be remembered. Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare will live on due to his extensive works. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti.” Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in his message said, "Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare dedicated his life to collect information, study, research on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He leaves a major void in the world of history, art and culture." Former CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis also posted a condolence message on social media. He said, "Feeling extremely blessed to receive this award in presence of ShivShahir Babasaheb Purandare ji, Manda tai Amte and many other dignitaries present on this occasion." Padma Vibhushan awardee was one of the authorities on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Born on July 29, 1922, at Saswad near Pune, he was fascinated by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s work since childhood. Soon he started exploring, studying, and writing essays and stories on him. With his first creation ‘Shivacharitra Vyakhyanmala’, he revived the period of the 17th century with all nuances. Another creation called Raja Shivchhatrapati a two-part biography of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj written in the ornamental language is also popular among Marathi readers. But he was most well-known for his work play ‘Jaanta Raja’ a three-hour-long opera based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life. Penned and directed by him, the magnum opus performance had over 200 artistes performing with clocklike precision with the help of digitally recorded four-track sounds. Jaanta Raja is also translated and enacted in five languages and had over 1200 shows in various parts of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, and even abroad. Once under the patronage of then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee the play had a show in New Delhi. He was awarded Maharashtra Bhushan (2015) by the state government and the second-highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan (2019). He is survived by two sons and a daughter...#...LIFE HISTORY...

The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat lost his life along with his wife and 11 other passengers in a helicopter crash on Wednesday (December 8, 2021) near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. He was the country’s first Chief of Defense Staff. " With deep sorrow, we inform that Com.B Sasidharan Pillai, Central Committee Member of AICBRF, Regional Secretary of AKCBRA-Kerala, and Executive Committee Member of Quilon Dt. Committee passed away due to heart attack yesterday at Kollam. Born on 28-01-1952, he joined our Bank’s service as Clerk at Sultanbattery branch in hilly ghats Wyanad Dt. on 13-01-1978. While he was working at our Chinnakada Quilon branch during 1983 - 1993, he served as Branch Secretary of Canara Bank Employees’ Union for about 10 years espousing the cause of serving employees effectively. He worked in Trivandrum Circle Office and subsequently displaced to our Konithukunnu branch in Trichur district. In 1994, he was promoted as Scale I Officer and worked in Kolkatta Circle Office. Back to home state in 1997, he served in Convent Road, Quilon branch and Padiyur branch. On promotion to Scale II in the year 2003, he was transferred to Gidighatty (Odisha) branch. Subsequently on re-transfer, he rendered his services at our Anandavalleswaram, Quilon, Karunagapally branches. Finally, he was superannuated as Manager at our Currency Chest, Quilon on 31.01.2012. After retirement from the service of the bank, he evinced keen interest in the retirees’ movement. He was very simple person with unwavering loyalty to the retirees organisations coupled with commitment to espousing the cause of retired employees of our bank and contributed significantly to AICBRF. His amiable nature and retiree-centric orientation endeared himself to persons around him. While we join our Kerala Comrades in mourning the departure of Com.B Sasidharan Pillai, we dip our banner in his memory and pay our respectful homage to him, besides conveying our deep condolence to the bereaved family and members of AKCBRA – Kerala.
