Dr Pushpa Khanna, Former Professor of Botany, University of Rajasthan , Jaipur, (sic born 03 Dec 1928), has passed away (yesterday). A dedicated teacher, an effective educational administrator, a serious researcher, she was once principal at Maharani College of the University.
His student Professor Pravin Trivedi sometimes back remembering her said, "My teacher, Prof Pushpa Khanna, Iron lady of the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. At Bhubaneshwar science congress, she accepted my invitation to address the session, when I was President of Botany section of Indian Science Congress. Hat's off to madam, at the age of 88 years, she is still actively engaged in research and social work. Her research product (antidiabetic formulation) , patented by her is in great demand..."
Prof Soumana Datta this march said, "She was our boss and principal in 1980s in Maharani college, Jaipur. A plant scientist par excellence, her hard work and dedication inspires all of us even today. ... Prof Pushpa Khanna 93 years young..."
Prof R Raghuvanshi expressed his deep condolences:
"Very sad to know about demise of Prof.Madam Puspa Khannaji.She was a well - known teacher cum scientist of very high repute.She laid the strong foundation for the research work on biochemistry, based on tissue culture techniques.She devoted her whole life for the cause of research work of international standard.I pray almighty God to grant her soul rest in peace and patience and strength to family members to bear this very personal loss."
